Exploring the history of Cinema in striking modern building
Discover one of the richest archive collection about cinema with prints, films, as well as a vast gallery full of objects and cameras since cinema was invented.
Pathé, the oldest cinema company in the world, has organized a foundation to gather its archive, open to all researchers around the world. It is housed in a brand new building conceived by the famous architect Renzo Piano, behind an old façade designed by Rodin.
On top of a temporary exhibition, the tour will show the whole building, including offices on the top floor with the impressive glass ceiling.
The tour will end in the basement, where, behind a room covered with vintage posters, a mute film from the 1920’s will be shot, accompanied by a piano player!
Meeting point: 1, Place d’Italie, outside the 13th arrondissement Town Hall.
