Meet artists and enjoy a drink at an exhibition in France’s most famous counter-culture venue.

Les Frigos is an artists ‘residency housed in the former refrigerated storage depot built in 1920 for all fresh food destined to the main Paris food market at les Halles. Abandoned at the start of the 1970’s, it slowly became home to artists and artisans.

Normally closed to visitors, around 80 workshops are now located there, but also rehearsal studios for theater or musicians, a hidden café, with first class homemade food and an art gallery for temporary exhibitions and private events.

Another workshop, the largest of this incredible art center, will uncover another secret: a huge and original locomotive from the 1930’s, used during tragic times of WW2.

After a last walk through the different corridors, filled with paintings, collages and frescoes, the gallery’s curator will take us through the exhibition entirely dedicated to women artists, while enjoying a drink and short videos.

2hrs event in English 25€/person.

The meeting is at 2:30 pm outside Darty store, 29, rue Neuve Tolbiac, exit of Bibliothèque François Mitterrand métro station (line 14, RER C)
